    Erectile Dysfunction and Erection Problem

    Erectile Dysfunction and Erection Problem
Erectile dysfunction can be devastating for many men because the ability to please their partner sexually is important to their self- esteem. In their minds real men are able to produce hard, long-lasting erections at will. If they are unable to do this, it begins to shake their self-confidence.

They may begin to take desperate measures to regain their sexual potency. If none of these home remedies work to their satisfaction many men slip into depression. Their whole world turns grey and many lose their zest for life. In some sad cases men with erectile dysfunction may even contemplate suicide.

What is Erection Problem (or Impotence)
When a man has erectile dysfunction they are not the only one who is negatively affected. It can affect his job, his ability to have fun with his friends and his personal relationships. Sex is a very important part of most relationships. When a man finds himself unable to satisfy his partner sexually it can cause serious problems in his relationships. Many men faced with the spectre of sexual dysfunction begin to draw away from their loved one. Some men become angry and blame their condition on their mates. Some men even begin to go outside their relationship to 'test' their manhood with a different partner.

Being unable to perform sexually because of impotence can leave men with feelings of inadequacy or even humiliation. When things don’t go as planned, men can question their very manhood instead of blaming the true cause of the problem; a treatable medical condition. Wallowing in self-pity or ignoring the problem won’t make it go away. It is more likely that impotence will worsen over time rather than become better.

Impotence can be caused by many things. It is known that men who make poor nutritional choices are far more likely to experience impotence than those who eat healthy foods. It is also known that men who exercise regularly are less likely to suffer with impotence. Another factor that can lead to impotence is the overconsumption of alcoholic beverages. Too much regular consumption of alcohol is a key element of many impotence diagnoses.

Once they realize they are the one with the problem and it is not caused by something their mate does or does not do many begin to feel humiliated. They feel embarrassed to look at or talk to their mate. Instead of discussing it with the person with whom they have been sharing their lives, many men just shut down. They may begin to avoid their partner. Some throw themselves into their work to get their minds off the problem and give them a reason to stay away from home. Other men faced with erection problems may even lapse into alcohol or drug abuse to dull the pain. This can lead to even bigger problems with their mate and often leads to frequent arguments, separation or even divorce.

But it does not have to be this way. Erection problems in men often have very simple causes. It can be caused by stress, low testosterone, and the use of certain medications, lack of exercise and many other treatable issues. One of the first steps men should take when they begin to have erection problems is to visit their doctor. This is a difficult step for many to take because it means revealing to another human being that they are no longer able to do that most manly of acts- get regular, firm, long lasting erections. However if they can find the strength and confidence to see a doctor about their sexual dysfunction they may find their erection problem is fairly common and can be handled quickly, easily and relatively inexpensively.

Treatment for Erectile dysfunction and Erection Problem
Research has shown that most erection problems can be overcome through a change in diet or an increase in the amount of exercise men do. For those whose problem does not respond to those treatments there are a number of other successful therapies and medications which can have them back to being their old sexual selves with just a few treatments. Many are able to address their erection problems through the use of erectile dysfunction medication like Viagra, Cialis and many others like them. There are also many competent doctors throughout the country who specialize in helping men overcome impotence. Men suffering with impotence simply need to seek them out.

Erectile dysfunction is fairly common in men of all ages. Having an erection problem does not have to signal the end of your sex life and with it your relationship with your mate. The key to overcoming erectile dysfunction is to seek help. A skilled doctor will start with a simple check up. Often this will reveal the cause of the problem. Erectile dysfunction may be caused by your high blood pressure medication, your sedentary lifestyle or stress. The solutions can be just as simple. If you are having an erection problem don't panic. Help is available. Talk with your partner and your doctor. Together you can experiment with a range of lifestyle changes and treatments until you find the one that is right for you.

While targeting the aforementioned areas may provide some relief in many cases of impotence, it is important to see a doctor in the case of a sustained period of impotence. Whether the impotence is sporadic or continuous; if it lasts longer than several days, a visit to the doctor is in order.

Doctors are able to determine the specific cause of impotence and provide treatment for it. This treatment can take the form of simple lifestyle changes or the use of medication. Modern medicines mean that almost no one need suffer from untreated impotence.
While it may be tempting to try over-the-counter medicines for impotence, these medicines all work in very different ways. Depending on the cause of impotence, the last thing that a man needs is a “sexual enhancement” pill. These pills can aggravate impotence and the underlying causes of this condition.

The good news is that impotence no longer needs to be a chronic condition. Modern medical care is quite capable of treating this condition. All curing impotence takes is a little bravery on the part of patients in discussing this problem with their doctor.
