    There are two major types of cholesterol, HDL (Good Cholesterol) and LDL (Bad Cholesterol). The high level of cholesterol in the body may create some serious problem like heart disease or heart attack. Here are some diet suggestions are given for controlling and lowering cholesterol level.


    Avoid Saturated Fats
    The saturated fats are the main cause of cholesterol. If you want control your cholesterol level you should avoid those foods which are high in saturated fats. In certain cases, if you want to take high saturated food, take them in limited quantity, like chicken, beef. There are also saturated fats in vegetable oil, you should also avoid this.

    Eat Plenty of Fruits and Vegetables
    Green leafy vegetables, carrots, cucumber and cabbage are the best food for those who want to lower down the cholesterol level. Fruits can be consumed with these vegetables. The content of saturated fat in the fruits and vegetables are very low, in facts they contains healthy fats and lots of vitamins and minerals.

    Eat Tuna or Lean Meat
    Fish like tuna and salmon are best for cholesterol lowering diet. Tuna and salmon are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. On other side you can also eat lean meat if you cannot avoid meat. Both fish and lean meat are good for controlling cholesterol or lowering cholesterol.

    Eat Fiber
    The high fiber foods are really good for those who want to control and lower the high cholesterol level. There are many foods which contain high fibers like whole wheat bread, fruits, green vegetables, soybeans. The grains and cereals food also contains lots of fibers. In many studies, it is proved fiber dramatically lowers the high cholesterol. Fiber dissolve the excess fat and coverts it into body energy.

    Avoid Eggs
    The eggs are packed with high level of saturated fats. The high level of saturated fats in the body can raise cholesterol level which further may give birth to heart diseases. Yes, you can eat white egg without yolk, this can be substitute for whole eggs.

    Eat Boiled and Baked Foods
    If you want to lower down your cholesterol level or control your cholesterol level, you have to avoid fried foods. But, baked and boiled foods are the best choice for controlling cholesterol.
