    1. Grab That Bar and Do a Pull-up (or Chin-up)
The simple pull-up you learned in grade school gym class is one of the best workouts for your body. There are different variations that work different muscles, but the best part is that so many muscles are worked as you do a basic pull-up. Your back gets worked out. You shoulders are engaged. Your core is engaged if you perform a basic leg lift at the top of your pull-up. Add this basic exercise to your routine and your abs will be feeling the good pain when you are done.

    2. Get Horizontal and Try Planks and Push-ups
Getting horizontal is fun and that includes getting horizontal in the gym. Planking is not just a craze on the Internet. People have been doing planks for centuries to build their core strength. Basic planks where you straight your spine as you rest on your arms is great, but you can even perform push-ups in the plank position. Focus on tightening your abs to make sure your back is protected. Those core muscles will be screaming after only a minute or two of holding that plank.

    3. Run Fast with High Intensity Biking or Running
Have you been involved on a sports team in the past? If you were part of a team there is a good chance you had to run sprints. It turns out the coach was not trying to kill you with those drills. Running or Sprinting or high intensity short bursts of exercise are really good for your body. You can bike or run in short bursts until you are too tired to continue and it will do wonders for your heart. And the exercises will also workout your core like no other exercise. Your speed muscles will engage and those abdominal muscles will be ripped.
